IBG - September 2006

Inter Block Games are another big event in Hall life during semester1. In KR (Kent Ridge Hall)
there are 5blocks. "Your Blk is your family!" In several different sports every Blk tries to get as
many points as possible to be the IBG winner. Basically the whole event should not be too
competitive, its purpose is more to find new friends, try new sports and have a lot of fun.


Sepak Takraw: a true Malaysian, Thai game. 3men
per team have to play a small wooden ball over a net
to score - Volleyball with your feet.

Other games
are soccer,
handball,
volleyball,
floorball,
netball,
frisbee, touch
rugby and swimming, road race and track

Most important thing is always the team-spirit. You can be sure that your block will support you
at every event, Chinese cheers included ;-)

Finally after 5weeks sport there is the TGIO (Thank God it's
over) - a formal dinner to close IBG, with live music and
award ceremony.

By the way if you stay in Singapore you have to get used to
all these abbreviations!
